About us

After the huge success of Ride Chartridge in 2018 – Chesham’s annual cycling sportive – the 2019 edition will take place on Sunday 19th May.

The event will once again be hosted by Chartridge Primary School.

There are three routes: 10 mile family ride, 30 miles and 60 miles. All our rides provide an excellent way to enjoy the local scenery, meet new riders and raise money for the school. With over 350 riders signing up in 2018, £6000 was raised for the school and the team of parents organising the event hope to beat that total in 2019.

Everyone who takes part can look forward to a clearly signed route, a well-stocked lunch stop, chip timing, event photographs and a goody-bag.

The school will again host a family event on the day, which will include many different activities for everybody to take part in.

Our Rides

  • The Family Ride
16km | £10 per family (every child accompanied by adult)

Already regarded as one of most family friendly events in the region, this year’s edition will also include a guided cycle event for children, called ‘The Family Ride’. Taking in ten miles of beautiful local countryside, the route will be fully signed and include a feed station. Details of the route can be found here

    490 feet of climbing

  • The Red Run
    50km | Adults: £26.00 | Under 16's: £10

The ‘Red Run’ is a relaxed and entertaining ride that will suit all abilities and can be ridden on mountain bikes or hybrids – so no need to rush out and buy an expensive new road bike, (unless you so desire!). This route will be hilly and provides a fantastic introduction to sportive-riding. Details of the route can be found here

    1,660 feet of climbing

  • The Black Run
    100km | Adults: £26.00

The ‘Black Run’ is a dramatic ‘modern-century’ through the Chiltern hills. This route will provide the best experience for riders on road-bikes of mixed abilities. An excellent challenge that most riders will be able to achieve providing they put in regular training. This will be a great opportunity to test yourself. Details of the route can be found here

    3000 feet of climbing
