Already regarded as one of most family friendly events in the region, this year’s edition will also include a guided cycle event for children, called ‘The Family Ride’. Taking in ten miles of beautiful local countryside, the route will be fully signed and include a feed station. Details of the route can be found here
490 feet of climbing
The ‘Red Run’ is a relaxed and entertaining ride that will suit all abilities and can be ridden on mountain bikes or hybrids – so no need to rush out and buy an expensive new road bike, (unless you so desire!). This route will be hilly and provides a fantastic introduction to sportive-riding. Details of the route can be found here
1,660 feet of climbing
The ‘Black Run’ is a dramatic ‘modern-century’ through the Chiltern hills. This route will provide the best experience for riders on road-bikes of mixed abilities. An excellent challenge that most riders will be able to achieve providing they put in regular training. This will be a great opportunity to test yourself. Details of the route can be found here
3000 feet of climbing
For a first event you got it all spot on, one of the nicest routes I have ridden this year. Signs were perfect & the marshals were perfect. The people at the feed stations were soooooo helpful. Brilliant day – just wish I could of hung around afterwards.
I would just like to thank all the organisers and sponsors of Sunday’s event. I loved my jaunt around the beautiful red route and hubby discovered some new favourite roads (and challenge at Whiteleaf!) on the black. Good to chat to other riders and sponsors while unwinding at the end, – a lovely morning. We both look forward to taking part in 2015.
Many thanks for the excellent event last Sunday. It was my first sportif and I found that the organisation, from the initial registration right through to the feed stops and direction signs, was first class. I would happily recommend it to anyone seeking an enjoyable first try.
Superbly organised event. Friendly marshals and a great choice of food at the refreshment stops. Well sign posted and a warm welcome on the return. Highly recommended – maybe go black next year!
